Suzuki has officially announced plans to offer the Swift 4x4. It remains to be seen when we actually get to see the same to be launched in India.
Well the four wheel drive comes with additional transfer case to transfer the torque to rear wheels. The weight penalty from the four-wheel drive system is 90kg, which doesn't sound like a huge amount, but on a small car like the Swift, it should make hell lot of difference.
The difference between regular swift and a 4X4 is not visible until u look closely, the only difference being the 25 mm increased ride height and a 4X4 badge. Other than that its still fine looking car with spacious and well built cabin which we Indians love.
The entry-level model closely resembles the standard Swift but the range-topping SZ4 variant has plastic body cladding, skid plates, LED daytime running lights and door mirrors with integrated turn signals.
Its is carrying the same 1.2 Litre 93bhp petrol engine. Has it got the torque to carry the 4 wheel version needs to be seen.
Suzuki is planning to launch 4X4 in UK by month end.The entry-level Swift 4x4 will cost £11,516 while the upmarket SZ4 variant retails for £13,116.
